What You'll Need

Common Application Forms

FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

  • The Common Application, which requires a personal statement essay, must be completed and submitted by the appropriate deadline.
  • The Common Application Supplement must be completed and submitted online with the application.
  • A letter of recommendation from the high school counselor or Secondary School Report.
  • A complete official transcript of high school work to date; if applicable, college work must also be submitted.
  • A teacher recommendation, which should be completed by a junior or senior year teacher of an academic subject. Additional recommendations may be submitted.
  • Standardized test scores: SAT Reasoning or ACT exam scores should be sent directly from the testing agency. St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s College Board (CEEB) code is 5601, and our ACT college code is 1736. SAT Subject Tests are not required but may be submitted for consideration.
  • A midyear report reflecting seventh semester or tenth trimester grades.
  • An Application Fee of $50.00 is required to process an application. The fee may be submitted online via credit card in the payment section of your application. Please note that the college will not receive your application until this section is complete and you have submitted your application.
  • Interviews are an optional part of the admissions process.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

  • The Common Application, which requires a personal statement essay, must be completed and submitted by the appropriate deadline.
  • The Common Application Supplement must be completed and submitted on line with the application.
  • A letter of recommendation from a college professor.
  • Official transcripts of all college work; for applicants with fewer than 24 earned college credits, a final high school transcript must also be provided.
  • A statement of good standing from the most recent college attended or College Report.
  • Applicants with fewer than 24 earned college credits must also submit SAT Reasoning or ACT exam scores. St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s College Board (CEEB) code is 5601, and our ACT college code is 1736.
