Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of St. Mary's College, charged by the Governor of the state with responsibility for the financial, administrative, and academic affairs of the institution. The College is distinguished from other public college boards by a 1992 charter that grants the Board of Trustees control over the governance and polices of the College.
Twenty-six trustees serve St. Mary's College, of whom the Governor nominates twenty-three. The president of the Alumni Association, one student trustee, and a representative from Historic St. Mary's City fill the remaining three positions. The board also selects the President of the College, who also serves on the board. Additionally, there are sixteen trustee emeriti.
