Academic Calendars: 2008 - 2009 | 2009 - 2010

August

  • Aug 28: Residence halls open for new students. New Student Day
  • Aug 28-30: Orientation for all new students.
  • Aug 31 - Sep 1: Residence Halls open for returning students

September

  • Sept 1: Labor Day Holiday: NO CLASSES
  • Sept 2: CLASSES BEGIN.
  • Sept 2-12: Schedule-adjustment period and late registration.
  • Sept 12: Last day to declare or retract an Audit grading option
  • Sept 15 - Sept 26: Add a course with a fee until Sep 26. You may withdraw with a grade of "W"
    with a $25 fee until the end of the 10th academic week (Oct. 31)
  • Sept 26: LAST DAY for students to submit course work to faculty to remove an Incomplete
    and to change grading option to Credit/No-credit

October

  • Oct 2: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from a half-semester course
  • Oct 10: LAST DAY for instructors to remove an Incomplete
  • Oct 13 - Oct 14: Fall reading Days. NO CLASSES
  • Oct 20: Mid-semester report deadline.
  • Oct 20 - Oct 24: Half-semester courses begin
  • Oct 24: LAST DAY to register for a half-semester course beginning at mid-semester.

November

  • Nov 3 - Nov 7: Academic advising for all degree students currently enrolled.
  • Nov 4: NO CLASSES. All day advising.
  • Nov 5 - 14: Registration for degree students.
  • Nov 7: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from a full-semester course
  • Nov 20: LAST DAY to withdraw , without a grade penalty,
    from a half-semester course which began at mid-semester
  • Nov 21: St. Mary's Projects due to mentor.
  • Nov 25: Thanksgiving recess begins at 10:00 p.m.

December

  • Dec 1: CLASSES RESUME.
  • Dec 12: Last Day of regularly scheduled classes.
    St. Mary's Projects due in the registrar's office.
  • Dec 15 - Dec 18: Final Class meetings/exams. Last class meeting scheduled during exams
  • Dec 22: Grades due by noon.

January

  • Jan 16: Residence halls open and orientation begins for new students
  • Jan 16: Advising for all new students. Orientation continues.
  • Jan 16: Registration for all new students.
  • Jan 18 - 19: Residence halls open for returning students.
  • Jan 19: NO CLASSES: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
  • Jan 20: CLASSES BEGIN
  • Jan 20 - Jan 30: Schedule-adjustment period and late registration.
  • Jan 30: Last day to declare or retract an Audit grading option

February

  • Feb 2 - 13: Add a course with a fee until Feb 13. You may withdraw with a grade of "W"

  • Mar 16: Spring recess begins.
  • Mar 23: CLASSES RESUME.
  • Mar 30 - April 3: Academic advising for all degree students currently enrolled.
  • Mar 31: NO CLASSES. All day advising.

April

  • April 3: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from full-semester courses
  • Apr 1 - 10: Registration for degree students.
  • Apr 13: St. Mary's Projects due to mentor.
  • Apr 16: LAST DAY to withdraw, without a grade penalty, from a half-semester course
  • Apr 25: AWARDS CONVOCATION

May

  • May 1: Last Day of regularly scheduled classes.
    St. Mary's Projects due in the registrar's office.
  • May 4 - 5: St. Mary's Project presentations.
  • May 6: Reading day.
  • May 7 - 12: Final Class meeting/exams. Last class meeting scheduled during exams.
  • May 13: Senior grades due by noon.
  • May 16: Commencement
  • May 18: Grades due by noon.
