The International Council (IC) was formed in Fall 2002 in order to promote the internationalization of SMCM.  The purview of the IC shall include the areas of 1.) curriculum; 2.) on-campus, co-curricular activities; 3.) study abroad by SMCM students; 4.) on-campus residence by students and professionals from abroad; and 5.) solicitation of outside grants for support of international education initiatives, and the establishment and overview of collaborative institutional agreements.

IC Coordinating Committee (CC)
The IC CC is made up by three members of the IC, plus the Director of the Office of International Education as a permanent ex officio member without vote.  Two members are elected by the IC, the third member is appointed by the Provost.  Current CC members are Joanna Bartow, Bill Roberts, and John Schroeder.  Joanna Bartow will serve as CC lead during the 2006-2007 academic year.
