Majors choose between one 100-level and two 200-level classes from the following. And both levels are appropriate for first-year students.

Human Studies (HMST)

International Languages and Cultures (ILCC, ILCF, ILCG, ILCS, etc)

Students interested in pursuing a degree or concentration in any of the languages offered at St. Mary�s College (Chinese, French, German, and Spanish) should take a language course at the level into which they place. Another required course for both the degree and concentration is the Introduction to Literature for each language. This course can also take the place of the General Education Requirement in Literature.
