Academic Policy Committee

Letter of Appeal Template

The Academic Policy Committee is a standing committee of the Faculty Senate. It includes four faculty members, a student representative, and a representative of the Office of the Registrar. That representative and the Associate Provost for Academic Services are ex officio members and do not vote. The committee meets approximately every other week and deals with petitions for exceptions to academic policies, revised policies and procedures as necessary, establishes the academic calendar, and otherwise addresses issues related to issues of academic policy. Students wishing to petition for an exception should write a letter addressed to the Academic Policy Committee, with the appropriate cover sheet, and submit it in hard copy and in electronic form to the Office of the Registrar.
