Composting at St. Mary’s

Written by Ben Toll

Ever feel bad about throwing away your banana peel or apple core?  Well, St. Mary’s has a new composting program.  We’ve gotten a couple of all-student and all-staff emails about this lately but today was the first day I spotted one on campus.

The compost bins can be used for:

  • Fruits & Vegetables
  • Egg Shells
  • Coffee Grounds
  • Tea Bags & Leaves
  • Grains
  • Bread Scraps

This may appear to be a bizarre thing to have on a college campus but since all of the townhouses & apartments on campus have kitchens it seems like a pretty smart idea to me.

Here's a map of all the compost bin locations
