Yesterday was such a great day! After crew practice, I went to the gym with my friend and teammate Korinne and got in a great lifting workout. I only had two classes and was done by noon, at which time I gave a campus tour, just as I do every Friday. The group was really engaged and asking a lot of good questions, which makes it so much fun for me.
Around ten, a few of my suitemates and I headed out to find some dance parties. Last night was the opening night of the Nest, the alcohol-free dance club on campus. It was rave themed, which basically means there were glow sticks (SO EXCITING) and crazy lights. I’m actually a little sore from dancing so much. We ran into a lot of other friends there before heading over to one of the townhouses on the Crescents for another dance party, where I met up with some of the freshman who were my “orientees” during freshman orientation this year (I’m an Orientation Leader). I don’t see them much around campus, so it was fun to spend some time with them.
The only minor flaw in my plan for the night was that I ended up going to bed at 3 AM, and I had to get up early to greet prospective students and their families to our Open House today. I’ve also been getting a little sick over the course of the week (something I never used to do, but welcome to college), so I think the bulk of the remainder of today will be serious homework time.
