So hear I am thinking about what to blog about and silly me thinks, oh, Thanksgiving Break is always a great thing to talk about, but then I was distracted by a text message confirming lunch plans and realized, its already December 1?
Growing up I was always that overly excited child who would count down the days until I was set free from my studies and holidays were around the corner.. 26 days until Thanksgiving! 10 days to Christmas! T minus 3 months and 4 days until my birthday! (And by child, I mean up until my senior year of high school.) Then I hit college.. yes, I always looked forward to heading home for breaks, sleeping in my own bed, taking a shower lack the communal aspect of college, but breaks started to creep up on me faster and faster. Now, in my second year at St. Mary’s, I don’t know where the semester has gone. Like I said I was super excited to blog about packing up my dorm room and heading home for Thanksgiving, except Thanksgiving is already over; and even worse, there is only two weeks until final exams!!!!!
I guess in a way I am sort of bragging about how wonderful St. Mary’s is. Not because I don’t get excited to go home anymore, because in all honesty I would make that 2 hour drive daily for my mom’s homemade cookies, and not because it keeps me so preoccupied that I don’t have time to get excited about upcoming holiday plans, but because I have so much fun here and am so thrilled about every single day, that it broke my childish acts of counting down days until school breaks and holidays (well, kind of, my birthday really is in 3 months and 4 days).
I hope you all get to experience this with whatever college you have or will attend! I hope your turkey was delicious and that your holiday season is spectacular! (except I will be counting days until I get to return to school
!)
