I graduated from St. Mary’s in 2006 and I’m a bit embarrassed to say this, but one of the things that I miss most is a Great Room omelet. Now, if you haven’t had the opportunity to have your life enlightened by a Great Room omelet, follow me on a little journey.
As you enter the Great Room for either breakfast (weekdays) or brunch (weekends), your first stop should be the customized omelet corner. Possible ingredients include:
- Ham
- Bacon
- Peppers
- Onions
- Mushrooms
- Tomato
- Cheese
Perhaps you are on some crazy diet where you don’t eat egg yolks, that’s cool too! They’ll make your omelet with egg whites.
So what is the moral of the story? Don’t graduate because despite how many times you try, you’ll never be able to make an omelet this good (though California Pizza Kitchen puts forward a valiant effort).

Ben,
You are not underestimating the quality of Great Room omelets. I miss them so much. If only Burkinabe knew what a good omelet was…
