UDaily – UD Botanic Gardens Launches Sustainable Landscape Web site

St. Mary’s alum, Rebecca Pineo, created and launched a sustainable landscape website as part of her internship with the University of Delaware Botanic Gardens. The website explores and explains the benefits of sustainable landscapes. They are promoted for maintaining soil integrity, hydrological function, plant and animal diversity, and contributing to human wellness.

Baltimore Examiner – Recent Grad Helps Students Find Better Jobs

A Baltimore Examiner article about how St. Mary’s alum Jeff Shepherd has received $75,000 from the Maryland Technology Development Corporation to fund his start-up company focused on helping college students land their first job after college. His program uses a web-based application that allows students to post information such as transcripts, video interviews, and resumes to a targeted database that will be made available to employers in the Baltimore area.

Science Careers – Archaeology for Fun and Profit

The American Association of Science recently profiled St. Mary’s alum Alasdair Brooks in their publication Science Careers, for an article on commercial archaeology. After graduating from St. Mary’s he went on to earn a master’s degree from the University of York in England. Brooks now works for Oxford Archaeology East.
