Don Stabile Scholars
Established in 2013 by Donald R. Stabile to benefit incoming students, either first-year or transfer students, who have academic merit.
St. Mary’s College Honorary Alumnus Donald Stabile received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and B.S. in Business Economics from the University of Florida. He began teaching at St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1980. He is a prolific scholar, having published 11 books and has written 14 book chapters, 18 scholarly articles, and over 100 book reviews. In 2003, Dr. Stabile was awarded the Norton T. Dodge Award for Creative and Scholarly Achievement, and served as the G. Thomas and Martha Myers Yeager Endowed Chair in the Liberal Arts from 2000-2003. Dr. Stabile has served in various administrative positions at St. Mary’s College, but none has been as rewarding to him as serving St. Mary’s students.
