History

Founded on August 14, 1917, a group of alumnae formally established the Alumni Association and created its governing body, known as the Board of Governors.

First President Betty Revell Wathen, Class of 1885, was a co-founder of the Association.

A Name Change in 1981, the Association updated its constitution and changed the name of its governing body to the Alumni Council.

(Throughout the Alumni Web page you will notice that alumni names are followed by a number indicating their graduation year. Sometimes that number is followed by a letter designation as well. "HS" stands for High School and "JC" for Junior College. This is a legacy of St. Mary's origins as St. Mary's Female Seminary and St. Mary's Seminary - Junior College.)
