College Earns Tree Campus USA Award for Second Year Running
The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized St. Mary’s College of Maryland as a 2012 Tree Campus USA. This distinction acknowledges that St. Mary’s College has met the core standards for effective campus forest management, including having a tree advisory committee and a campus tree-care plan. Supporting the Arboretum

Exciting News!
The arboretum has been named as a Level One Arboretum (approved by the Morton Register of Arboreta). The campus has been designated as a Tree Campus USA site by the Arbor Day Foundation of America, and the College's majestic willow oak at the Garden of Remembrance has been ranked in the state of Maryland’s “top 20” for that particular tree species. Come and visit and see what all the buzz is about!
While in St. Mary's City, be sure to visit Historic St. Mary's City. Their walking trails have been named to the Top 10 list of walks in the United States by the American Volkssport Association. Enjoy the beautiful views and breathe deep!
