The Teaching Collection of Art is a collection of over 1,800 paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures exhibited throughout campus buildings. Started over 20 years ago by Jonathan Ingersoll, gallery director emeritus, the Teaching Collection includes paintings and drawings by twentieth-century American artists, prints by late nineteenth-century French masters, and a small number of Asian prints and paintings. These works have been donated to the College by many individuals and organizations who share the conviction that learning in the liberal arts is greatly enhanced by the opportunity to experience the very wide variety of human expression in the visual arts.
