ART 308: Advanced Sculpture back to courses index
Lisa Scheer
This is an intermediate level studio class for students who have taken at least one previous course in sculpture but it is not necessarily a class for sculptors only. This course has a number of goals. The first is to broaden student's idea of art beyond making objects including issues such as process, interactivity, installation, site, and time-based formats. Familiarity with these ideas will occur both via studio activities (four quick-paced projects) and studying contemporary art and theory. Reading, research, and discussions will introduce a variety of contemporary artists working in these expanded modes.
This course may be repeated once for credit. Prerequisite: ART 105 or ART 208
