Alumni Where are they now?

Hannah Piper Burns (studio art, 2006) achieved her MFA in 2009 from the San Francisco Art Institute. She currently lives and works in Portland, OR as a freelance art writer, communications director for the Museum of Pocket Art, and a social media and blog coordinator for artist and filmmaker Lynn Hershman Leeson. Bio:
Christopher Saah is a light and lens-based
media artist currently living in Washington, DC. He is a former alumnus of SMCM
having completed his studies in Philosophy with a minor concentration in
Language and Literature. After graduation he began an advanced level internship
at The National Museum of American Art before going on to work independently as
a designer and new media artist for organization such as The Kennedy Center for
the Performing Arts, The American Film Institute, EarthRights International,
Ogilvy, and the Washington Project for the Arts. In 2004 he was awarded a
fellowship to participate in the Photographic and Electronic Media program at
the Maryland Institute College of Art, and has been an adjunct faculty member
at MICA and the George Washington University since graduating in 2006. He has
also taught at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and the University of
Maryland, Baltimore County. Christopher has had solo exhibitions at the
Flashpoint Gallery and the Constantine Grimaldis Gallery, where he is currently
represented. Additionally he has participated in group exhibitions at the
Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Arlington Art Center, Washington Project
for the Arts, Maryland Federation of Art, Transformer, Signal66, Museum of
Contemporary Art, Montpelier Cultural Arts Center, Hillyer Gallery, Meyerhoff
Gallery (MICA), Decker Gallery (MICA), Constantine Grimaldis Gallery, Missouri
State University Art Gallery, and Palmbeach 3.
