Mr. Robert Waldschmitt

Robert Waldschmitt is president of Wildewood Development Corporation and partner of Wildewood Park.  He graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School and Lehigh College. 

He belongs to a family that is well-known in St. Mary’s County and has a history of service to St. Mary’s College of Maryland.  Waldschmitt has served as a member of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Foundation Board of Directors since 1989 and as adviser to the College’s waterfront program since 1990.  Both his parents – Joseph and Alice Waldschmitt – were members of the Foundation Board, and his mother completed two six-year terms on the College’s Board of Trustees. 

Other activities include the Southern Maryland Sailing Association, Robert S. Waldschmitt Management Trust, and co-chairmanship of the 25th-anniversary celebration of the Governor’s Cup race in 1998.  In 1989, he was one of 11 St. Mary’s sailors to race in the 16th annual Black Sea Regatta in Odessa, USSR.

Waldschmitt lives in Solomons, Maryland.  He has three sons:  Michael Patrick, Robert Joseph, and William Christopher.
