McCammon's Work

Kate McCammon is a recent BFA graduate from Maryland Institute College of Art (2012). Her enigmatic paintings draw on the history of portraiture as well as the genre of landscape. She was awarded a number of residencies while an undergraduate student including one to study portraiture with Norwegian artist, Odd Nerdrum, and since graduation she has been awarded multiple residencies in Italy and Ireland. Kate will talk about the work she did while in residence, discuss the art work that inspired her during her residencies, and show slides of program locations and facilities and talk about the different programs in which she's participated.

Kate McCammon's work has been included in exhibitions at the Monongalia Arts Center, MICA Meyerhoff Gallery, Maryland Federation of Art, North Valley Art League, and Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venezia, among others. She currently lives in Bridgeport, WV and teaches courses at the Monongalia Arts Center. She has been awarded an upcoming residency in May 2013 at the Burren College of Art and Design in Ireland.
