College Music Trio to Perform Works of Beethoven

April 11
 Starts at 8:00 PM
Auerbach Auditorium, St. Mary's Hall

Cellist Suzanne Orban, violinist José Cueto and pianist Brian Ganz will play a program of chamber music at St. Mary's College of Maryland on Thursday, April 11 at 8 pm. The program will take place in the Auerbach Auditorium of St. Mary's Hall and is free and open to the public.

The heart of the program will be the sparkling Trio in E-flat major, Op. 1, No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven. "This is an absolutely astonishing Op. 1," pianist Ganz said recently. "Almost unarguably the greatest Op. 1 ever composed. He begins his published work with a masterpiece! I played it for the first time exactly 30 years ago with a superb violinist by the name of ... José Cueto! This was before either of us had begun teaching at St. Mary's College. It'll be great to revisit the piece with him after all these years, joined by our wonderful colleague Suzanne Orban."
