THE AGENT, Turkish
About the play: Join five immigrants from Africa and the Middle East as they desperately try to smuggle themselves into England in a shipping container on a truck located somewhere in Europe. Four of the five have a simple goal and dream: to get to safety and begin a new life. The fifth is trying to reunite with his wife and child. What will each do to get what they want? Can they depend on each other to make it through safely during this harrowing journey? Is the agent who arranged the transportation reliable? THE CONTAINER tells a searing story of what drives these five characters from their homelands and their fears of an unknown future.
It is strongly recommended that you read the play before auditioning. Copies of "The Container" are on reserve at the circulation desk of the library; just ask for the "Theater Productions" binder. An audition sign-up sheet is posted on the TFMS bulletin board in the Theater lobby, Montgomery Hall. For further information about procedures for auditions or about the production, contact the director, Michael Ellis-Tolaydo, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Performance dates are October 24-27 & October 31-November 3.
