A Dozen Ways to Play a Grand Piano

Pianist Eliza Garth performs a new version of "The Enchanted Piano," her program devoted to works for piano strings, prepared piano, extended piano, and piano with electronics.  Ms. Garth offers works by American composers Henry Cowell, Mei-fang Lin, George Crumb, Judah Adashi, Mario Davidovsky, and a preview performance of "for Eliza" by Nomi Epstein, a new piece commissioned by Ms. Garth that will receive its official world premiere in Chicago later in November. The Adashi and Crumb works are tributes to the American jazz musicians Thelonious Monk and Nina Simone.
