This center studies broad Public Policy issues related to governance, social and economic conditions, with an emphasis on the law and economics of telecommunications and high-tech industries. The goal of this center is to maximize consumer welfare by supporting objective, solutions-based academic research.
The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies
A group of conservatives and libertarians that are interested in the current state of legal order. They work to reorder priorities in the legal system to place a premium on individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law.
Workers Compensation Research Institute
This institute is an independent, not-for-profit research organization that brings attention to Public Policy issues involving workers' compensation systems.

Maryland Governor's Summer Internship Program
The GSIP introduces students to the unique challenges and rewards of working within Maryland State Government.
Maryland Dept. of Transportation Fellows Internship Program
This paid summer internship (with additional part-time responsibilities later in the senior year) is designed to recruit Maryland's brightest college students to the challenging and rewarding work within the Department of Transportation.
Maryland Nonprofit Leadership Program
The Walter Sondheim Jr. Nonprofit Leadership Program offers paid summer internships for students interested in nonprofit management.
MD General Assembly Legislative Intern Program
Each Spring up to 100 interns serve part- to full-time (Tuesday and Thursday at a minimum) at the Maryland General Assembly. 3.0 GPA and Junior/Senior standing required. Travel stipend of up to $1000 provided. More information is provided on this website. Due date is November 1.

Villers Fellowship for Health Care Justice
Work with Families USA to improve their health policy department. Villers fellows will conduct research on a range of health care policy issues, and write and contribute to publications that are relevant to current health policy debates. The application deadline is January 15, 2010.
Wellstone Fellowship for Social Justice
Work with Families USA to advance social justice through health care advocacy by focusing particularly on the unique challenges facing communities of color. The ideal candidate must be interested in health care policy and racial/ethnic health disparities, also someone who will potentially contribute to social justice work after their fellowship. The application deadline is February 5, 2010.
