The glove box is used by students and faculty doing research in organic
and inorganic syntheses which involve the preparation or handling
of air and/or moisture sensitive compounds. When working in the glove
box, the necessary glassware and chemicals are inserted into an antechamber
which is purged with argon. The atmosphere in the glovebox is pure
argon that has the oxygen and moisture removed by recirculating the
argon through an absorbing chamber.
