Welcome!
The SMCM Equestrian Club is a student-run organization that is funded by the Student Government Association of St. Mary's College of Maryland. Weekly mounted lessons are available to club members during the semesters. The club provides students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of additional horse-related activities that include riding clinics, shows, and equine community service projects. Club members are encouraged to become involved with the maintenance and care of the horses at A Moment In Time Riding Stables as well.
The Equestrian Club fields a competitive hunt seat equitation team in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) competitions. The team participates in an average of 8 competitions per year. In recent years, St. Mary’s team members have represented the school at IHSA Regional, Zone, and National Finals. Team members are expected to ride in at least two lessons a week, one of which must be a team lesson with our coach.
1st Annual Judged Trail Ride
IMPORTANT:The graded trail ride WILL be held tomorrow, despite the possibility of some inclement weather. We think the weather will hold for us, but if something comes up, there is an indoor arena on the premises which we can use to take shelter--don't worry, nobody will be stranded in a storm! See you at the farm!
This year for the first time we will be hosting a judged trail ride at Flat Iron Farm on March 25, 2012. See prizelist for details! [Click here to download prizelist.]
