Why We Go
SafeRide's primary purpose is to prevent drunk driving. We attempt to do this as a direct intervention and response to students going against good thinking and deciding to drive after drinking. We aim to prevent student deaths by offering St. Mary's College students a free, reliable alternative to driving drunk.
We currently go to two local bars near the campus: The Green Door in Park Hall, MD and the new Sunshine Oasis (formerly Monk's) in St. Inigoes, MD. SafeRide works to stay on top of changes in the bar scene so it can continue to provide the best service possible to its patrons.
