English Language Summer Program at St. Mary’s College of Maryland

Calvert Hall with flagSt. Mary’s College of Maryland, one of the top-rated public colleges in the U.S., offers a program of English language and American culture in the summer of 2012.

The Summer Program is designed for:

  • Students from Asia who will attend St. Mary's College or another American university in the autumn of 2012.
  • Grade 10 and Grade 11 high school students from Asia who want to improve their English skills, learn about American culture, and learn how to succeed in an American university classroom.

Program Features:

  • Intensive English language instruction designed for success in American universities.
  • Limited enrollment to guarantee small classes and individual instruction from professors.
  • Short courses taught by American professors in economics (business), science, U.S. history, and American film. These  seminars will give students valuable American classroom experience.
  • Lectures on American culture.
  • On-campus living with American student mentors.
  • Opportunities to spend time with American families in the local community.
  • Location near the national capitol, Washington, D.C., for weekend excursions.
  • Week-long study tour of cities and historical sites in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Student electronic portfolio demonstrating English proficiency and writing skills. Students can use the portfolio in applying to American colleges and universities.
  • Four credits of college-level work applied to study at St. Mary's or transferred to another American university.
  • Student visa for duration of program.Happy Graduation
  • Five weeks (July 16, 2012 to August 19, 2012).
  • Living in safety on the beautiful waterfront campus.
  • Total cost of $8,200 U.S., including all housing, meals, airport pickup and travel expenses during the study tour.
