Mission
The mission of St. Mary’s College of Maryland Campus Technology Support Services (CTSS) is to support and advance the academic and administrative efforts of the user community as a whole.
In the scope of its efforts, CTSS values:
- Technology that supports the College's core values of academic excellence, global engagement, accessibility, affordability and diversity, and a community built on respect.
- A balanced consideration of the importance, impact, and cost (including ongoing) of each potential new application.
- A preference for standard hardware and software in order to support more discipline-specific applications is deemed essential.
- Acceptance of change as a necessary part of taking advantage of opportunities afforded by new technology.
- Web-oriented interfaces to applications.
- Taking a creative approach whenever possible to technology solutions to see if an alternative could enhance services and offerings above and beyond the expectations of faculty, staff, and students for little or no additional cost.
- Employees learning appropriate technology to maintain and enhance effective job performance.
- Interoperability between campus networks to the greatest, reasonably possible extent to enhance resource sharing as well as improve access and convenience for students.
- Input from the College community, including students, faculty and staff.
- Maintaining the integrity and compatibility of institutional data.
