Phishing

Phishing is the now well-established scam process consisting of sending an email to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. Click here for more information.

Portal Guide

The Portal is the place on the Web where you can register for classes, access the electronic Campus Groups area, find many of SMCM’s forms and documents, amongst many other things.

Within the Portal students, faculty, and staff will be able to use information specific to them.  What a student sees when the log in will not be the same for the professor that teachers his class, because information on the Portal is delivered based on the role of the person accessing the site.

In the student portal, students will be able to register for classes, check their grades, order transcripts, and many other services that were available in SMARTNet (for those of you who were here prior to Spring 2009).

The official Portal Guide can be downloaded here as a PDF.
