Each student at St. Mary's College is provided with space on the school's web server.  Many students take advantage of this space to build their own websites.  To activate your personal Web space, contact the Support Desk at x.4357 or send an email to helpdesk@smcm.edu.  A student's Web site address has the following format:

http://students.smcm.edu/jwsmith/

You will need to download an FTP client. If you have a Windows computer, a free program, Core FTP Lite, is available at the Downloads page. A free program for Macintosh, Fetch, is also available at the Downloads page. Below are connection instructions for Core FTP Lite and Fetch, though the settings can be substituted for any FTP client.

Effective Immediately: All students, faculty, and staff members are no longer allowed to use FTP to maintain their personal sites.  Secure FTP (SFTP) must now be used.  For instructions, please click here.
