Email Client Support Policy

The Campus Technology Support Services department at St. Mary’s College of Maryland currently supports two email clients, Outlook and Entourage.

There are other clients that will work and faculty and staff may choose to use the email client they prefer. Although CTSS does not support any clients other than Outlook and Entourage, there is information provided on our website that will assist the user with email client setup.

The use of POP clients to download email locally to your machine is discouraged due to the increased risk of unintentional data loss.

Outlined below are some email reminders:

  1. The maximum size of a message (text plus all attachments combined) you can send from smcm.edu is 25MB. Please note that you may not be able to send larger attachments to contacts that use email services with smaller attachment limits.
  2. You can receive messages up to 25MB at your smcm.edu address.
  3. On-campus mailing lists can receive attachments but please try to keep them under 100KB.
