The Center for the Study of Democracy started an exciting new program in the Fall of 2015, involving students in organizing public events that have covered such themes as religious movements, U.S.-Russia relations, intellectual property issues, environmental advocacy, and European security issues. Student Ambassadors are the Center’s liaisons to SMCM and Maryland communities.
Student Ambassadors are currently acquiring valuable grass roots organizing experience by helping the Center with the two-day public forum, United not Divided: Economic Inequality and the Opportunity Gap in Baltimore on March 3031. This is the first time that the Center is hosting an off-campus event of this size.
To promote the event and generate discussion on the forum themes on campus, Student Ambassadors will organize an Inequality Workshop on Friday, February 26, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Daugherty-Palmer Commons (DPC).
