The Center for the Study of Democracy
encourages St. Mary's College students to pursue internships in public policy
positions with the hope that they will be inspired to choose public service as a calling.
The Center created a formal internship award -- The William Donald Schaefer Internship Program for Government Service. After an application process, the award carries a stipend of $1000 and assistance towards placement in a summer job that meets the student's interests.
