St. Mary's Votes!
Since its inception in 2004, the club has registered over 850 young people to vote in State and National elections. In 2008, the club expanded its role in civic engagement to include working as election and poll judges during primary and general elections.
William Donald Schaefer Legislative Internship - 2011
About
The Schaefer Legislative Spring Intern in Annapolis will have the unique opportunity to assist in the representation of St. Mary’s College in the politics and administration of state government. The intern will work during the legislative session to research and summarize bills, manage legislative hearing schedules, attend hearings and may have the opportunity to testify at hearings. The intern will have access to a state car and expenses will be provided travel to and from Annapolis. A tuition waiver and a $1000 stipend are also included.
Qualifications
The internship competition is open to SMCM juniors with a major or an emphasis in Political Science or Public Policy. Other requirements include: GPA of at least 3.0; full day's work in Annapolis from 2-4 days per week; semester internship of 12-16 hours of credit hours during the spring semester 2011; final written project.
