Campus Leaders
DeSousa-Brent Scholars welcome prospective students and parents at Admissions Open Houses.
Promoting Inclusiveness
Scholars host annual visits to the Latin American Youth Centers in Washington, DC, and Silver Spring, MD, to promote St. Mary's to talented high school students.
PROGRAM ADMISSION
Each year, St. Mary's College invites 30 entering students to join the DeSousa-Brent Scholars Program. Students are identified by their past success as high school leaders and their membership in underrepresented groups as defined by first-generation status, income, ethnicity, disability, and geography. Participants who accept the invitation join a cohort and associate themselves with a larger group of campus leaders. All first-year DeSousa-Brent Scholars are automatically enrolled in the Multicultural Achievement Peer Program (MAPP).
Other students who request to participate in DeSousa-Brent are considered as space permits.
