A group of five from St. Mary’s College of Maryland competed in the annual Fed Challenge competition in Baltimore on Tuesday November 18, 2003. The team, coached by Dr. Russell Rhine and Ms. Pam Hicks, assembled and presented their assessment of the current situation of the American economy including appropriate policy recommendations. The team then fielded questions from the judges panel, composed of respected economists, to both clarify questions from the presentation and to further examine the economic knowledge of the team members. All in all, the event left a positive experience on the participants and the judges were impressed with St. Mary’s presentation and demonstrated economic knowledge. The team consisted of seniors Ricky Davis and Aaron Woodward, juniors Ryan McQuighan, and Geoff Sanzenbacher, as well as first-year Karina Karakulov. Returning veteran senior Melvin McClintock also assisted in the development of the presentation. |
