What should I do?
Hurricane Action Plans
The Campus Store and Daily Grind will maintain operations until the storm approaches and then will close. The Daily Grind will re-open as soon as the storm passes and it is safe to venture outside. Review of the Hurricane Isabel follow up meeting suggest campus store operations will be very slow, closing this will allow the staff to focus on the Daily Grind to provide food and beverage supplies as needed. If the store closes, emergency supplies, such as batteries and flashlights will be relocated to the Daily Grind.
In the event that we get hit hard, all operations will be shut down during the most severe part of the storm. This possibility of closing should be included in any messages to the students to allow them to stock up prior to the storm. The stock of water, batteries and non-perishables is also being increased in preparation for the storm.
Merchandise, supplies, equipment, etc. will be moved off the floor and covered in case of flooding or leaks. Emergency supplies will be easily accessible. The Campus Store will be closed 12 hours before the anticipated arrival of the storm.
The Campus Store Manager (Richard Wagner) (x3421) will coordinate staffing during this period to provide adequate coverage based upon the severity of the storm.
