| Brandi Stanton received her B.A. from Stanford University and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Indiana University. Her dissertation, “Split at the Root: Race, Family, and Nation in Contemporary Poetry by Women of Color,” looks at how poetic representations of family contributed to debates about identity politics in the 1980s. Her teaching interests include 20th and 21st century American poetry and fiction, postmodernism, hybrid genres, feminist theory, and composition. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, running with her dog, Talula, and lying on the beach. |
