Her topic: Targeting synapses to treat cocaine addiction Addiction is a chronic, relapsing disorder that is driven by long-term changes in the function of neural circuits, which persist long after addictive drugs have been cleared from the body.  Neural circuits are ensembles of neurons that that are connected by specialized structures called synapses, and which work together to generate behavior.  Addictive…
