Two Washington insiders address the interaction of science, law, and policy inside the beltway. Vic Edgerton, Director of Investigations for the House Natural Resources Committee, previously served as Legislative Director for Congressman Keith Ellison, a Senior Policy Advisor to the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and Chief of Staff to Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Rachel Fertik works on national water policy as an Environmental Protection Specialist in EPA’s Headquarters. She informs Clean Water Act jurisdiction issues and has played a leadership role in a multi-year, foundational scientific “Waters of the U.S.” synthesis to support Supreme Court decisions. Vic and Rachel’s presentation, part of a yearlong speaker series exploring the environmental rights and responsibilities of a robust citizenry will pivot on a discussion in the round, so bring questions!
