Join Dr. Tuajuanda C. Jordan and the African and African Diaspora Studies program in the opening reception of the Boyden Gallery’s “Africa and the African Diaspora in Campus Collections” exhibition to celebrate Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m.
“Africa and the African Diaspora in Campus Collections” features objects held in campus collections that are relevant to teaching and learning about Africa, the African Diaspora and African American history, culture and experience. The exhibition, which runs from Jan. 31 to Feb. 18, features artwork, documents, publications and artifacts from the St. Mary’s College fine art collection, library and archives and Historic St. Mary’s City as well as creative work by students and alumni affiliated with the Black Student Union.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Sunday and Monday. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 240-895-4246.
