co-locates essential student services in one convenient venue.  The services in the building are integrated through a central front counter that will provide an introductory service intended to streamline the amount of different office visits students often are required to do.  The internet-based services found on the Portal transform much of the business practices to an on-line environment and provide a further tool to provide students a centralized location.  Importantly, it enables the redeployment of Anne Arundel Hall in the historic campus as an academic building focused on programs related to the legacy of Maryland’s first capital at St. Mary’s City.  In keeping with campus commitment to environmental stewardship, Glendening Hall features 25% recycled building and furnishing materials, and will reduce energy consumption by 30% (through the use of high energy systems and fixtures) and will reduce water use by 30% (through the use of low flow fixtures and waterless urinals).
