The 2014 Governor's Cup Yacht Race

St. Mary's College of Maryland Welcomes You to the 2014 Governor’s Cup Yacht Race, to be held August 1st and 2nd! The Governor's Cup Yacht Race is the oldest and longest overnight race on the Chesapeake Bay. This year marks the 41st running of the race from Maryland's current capital city to its first capital in St. Mary's City!
Simultaneously, Potomac Leg sailors start at Dahlgren and sail to St. Mary's City!
Competition begins on Friday, August 1st, at 2:55 p.m. and finishes on
August 2 at Church Point. We’ll again have live GPS tracking on the

All entries must be received by 7/25/14 at 1700.
Valid 2014 PHRF/Multihull rating required-
the entry will not appear on the 'scratch sheet' until it is checked against the Valid Lists and approved.

GPS tracking will be done via the Kattack iPhone or Android App, if you have the App from last year your all set.

Registration for housing, meals, and transportation is now open!
On campus housing for race participants and Alumni is available in Waring Commons Suites and/or the Green's Townhouses. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. All housing is air-conditioned. Pillows and bed and bath linens are provided. Check-In is upon arrival Saturdaymorning 8/2 and Check-Out is 11:00 a.m. Sunday 8/3. Accommodations are available Saturday to Sunday ONLY.
NEW for 2014! The Racer's Reception - Saturday 8/2 6-8 p.m. - will feature a bountiful assortment of hors d'ouevres filled with delightful bites including crab cake sliders, bbq chicken sliders, antipasto, roasted summer veggies with hummus, spanakopita and more as well as a cash bar offering beer, wine and a select cocktail menu. All proceeds from alcoholic beverage sales will go to support the St. Mary's College Alumni Scholarship Fund. Enjoy beautiful views of the St. Mary's River and catch up with fellow sailors while filling up on good food, quenching your thirst, and supporting a good cause. Tickets are $25.00 per person.
Shuttle service will be available from St. Mary's College to the City Doc In Annapolis on Saturday, 8/2. By request, we will offer two departure times 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Shuttle will depart form the St. Mary's City Post Office (across the street from River Center). Seats are $25.00 each.
