Assistant Director of Career Development
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Director of Career Development. The Assistant Director of Career Development oversees the day-to-day operation of career center programming and assists the Director of Career Development in administering comprehensive career development services at the College through such tasks as individual and group advising, program development, outreach, employer/alumni relations, and resource management. Additionally, the Assistant Director supervises a program coordinator and oversees the Career Development Center in the absence of the Director.
Qualifications include: Master’s degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education, human resources, or related field required; three to five years’ experience within education, academic advising, counseling, human resources, or career advising environment; prior success developing and delivering programs and workshops, and eagerness to innovate and actively engage liberal arts students in the academic and career exploration process; experience supervising student and professionals staff; excellent written and oral communication skills; proven attention to detail, organizational abilities, and capacity to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment; proficiency with MS Office and digital and social media tools; and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external contacts. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. Salary is in high $40’s.
