Caretaker I (Housekeeper, part-time)
St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting applications for the contingent part-time position of Caretaker I (Housekeeper). Caretaker I is a skilled position in housekeeping and minor maintenance trades. Responsibilities include vacuuming, moving furniture, stripping and waxing floors, setting up for College functions, changing light bulbs, and assistance in grounds if needed. Employees must be able to follow oral and written instructions and regularly lift heavy items such as furniture or equipment. Must be dependable and punctual. Occasional weekend work may be required. Previous custodial experience or training is a plus.
Qualifications include two years experience in cleaning or housekeeping field and possessing a valid Maryland driver’s license. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. This part-time position is 20-25 hours per week; Hourly rate of pay is $12.00, with no benefits provided.
