Grounds Crew Assistant (seasonal, temporary)
St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting applications for several contingent positions of Grounds Crew Assistant. These are seasonal temporary positions working 40 hours per week from approximately January 21, 2019 until November 1, 2019, that could be eligible for medical benefit subsidy. Employees will be working with the full-time staff on a wide array of grounds initiatives. Duties include: mulching, weeding, lawn care, trash and recycling, and other duties as assigned. Will be required to perform heavy lifting, work in inclement weather, do minor repairs to equipment and operate all tools and equipment associated with grounds. Employees must be dependable and punctual.
Qualifications include: Two years or the equivalent of experience in the field of grounds maintenance, and capable of working in small groups or alone. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
