Technical Director/Lighting Designer in Theater, Film and Media Studies
St. Mary's College of Maryland’s Department of Theater, Film, and Media Studies invites applications for a full-time, administrative staff position as technical director/lighting designer to begin Fall 2017. Position duties include designing lights and overseeing tech for three main stage productions annually, supervising the scene shop, and teaching courses in the area of technical theater and design. Position also includes budget management responsibilities for the department.
Qualifications: M.A. or M.F.A. or equivalent professional experience is preferred. Expertise in sound design is highly desirable. Professional theatrical experience is beneficial, but not necessary. Some teaching experience is preferable. Budget management experience is a must. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
