Tenure-track Designer in Theater, Film, and Media Studies
St. Mary's College of Maryland’s Department of Theater, Film, and Media Studies invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time faculty position in scenography to begin Fall 2017. Position duties include designing sets and costumes for three main stage productions annually, supervising the costume shop, and teaching courses in the area of theatrical design. Candidates who can contribute to our curriculum in film studies and who are qualified and willing to teach courses that support cross-disciplinary areas in cultural pluralism will receive preference.
Teaching experience, particularly in a liberal arts context, is highly desirable. An M.F.A. or equivalent professional experience is preferred. Applicants should be actively engaged in creative activity and theoretical inquiry. This position will also contribute leadership in undergraduate programs, curriculum development, advising, and governance within the department, college, and the field at large. An interest in attracting and retaining students from underrepresented groups is desirable. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
