Visiting Two-Year Position in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at St. Mary’s College of Maryland invites applications for a two-year visiting position in Mathematics, starting Fall 2018, pending final approval of funding. Applicants should have expertise in Statistics, Data Science, or other applied fields, and hold a Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics or a related area at the time of the appointment. (Those awaiting their dissertation defense may be considered. If hired, the candidate would serve as Visiting Instructor of Mathematics until terminal degree is acquired.)
A successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher with a commitment to attracting and retaining students from underrepresented groups (including women). The new hire will be able to teach a wide range of undergraduate statistics and mathematics courses, and be dedicated to the liberal arts tradition. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
