How To Apply
Phase 1: Apply to the Program
Prerequisites: Students applying for admission to this program must complete at least one year of Beginning Chinese and at least one course in Chinese Culture, History, Philosophy, Literature, or Politics prior to the semester of exchange. Either a second year of Chinese or an intensive course in Chinese taken during the summer before departure is highly recommended but is not a prerequisite. Students applying for admission to this program must also have a GPA of at least 2.75 at the time of application.

October 15 for spring semester study abroad
March 1 for fall semester study abroad

Mandatory Pre-departure Meeting
Study-abroad students are required to attend two mandatory pre-departure meetings in the semester prior to study abroad.
For Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and Academic Year 2012-13 the pre-departure meetings are as follows:
Part I - Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 4:30-6:00pm
Part II - Program specific session - April 16, 2012 at 4:30-6:00pm - Glendening 180
Phase 2: Pre-Departure

Preapproval of Transfer Credit Form
|
Visa application--check the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the U.S. website for current information as the Chinese visa application form changed in late April 2011 and is now more extensive. An admissions packet is sent to students in early December which includes the Visa application form. Students could apply for visa after they get visa application forms. |
